Welcome back to the blog for another year. It’s Thursday, so I’m right on time! To every subscriber, I’m so thankful for you. If you are just a visitor and haven’t yet joined the family, I’m happy you’re here and hope you’ll decide to subscribe and follow along on my journey.
I’m excited about today’s post. I’ve been thinking about it for some days now. Can you believe it’s really 2026? Like these years don’t even sound like real years, for real. More like a science fiction setting, type.
Nevertheless, you’re probably here for the title’s sake. And sure, I will tell you my word for the year 2026, but first, I will tell you a bit about 2025. You can even read about my word for last year: consistency.
My 2025 Reflection
In 2025, I made many changes. I wouldn’t say ‘sacrifices’; more like ‘decisions’. I decided to do this thing, or this other thing. Each decision came with its own consequence. That’s the part that feels like a sacrifice to some people because you “lose” the thing you didn’t choose to do. But in the end of the day, you still made a choice.
In 2025, I chose to really live life lavish (trademark coming soon, fingers crossed). It’s my brand after all. One of them at least. Even the clarity to be brandless, titleless, no affiliation, no accreditation, just speaking from my heart and soul all year, and wow, what it has gotten me!
What and where, because I started 2025 in Houston, TX. But enough about last year! I’m on that new new ish!!!
My Word for 2026: F.U.N.
My word for 2026 is FUN! That’s what I realized is the missing piece of this game called life. I seek enjoyment, but not in a hedonistic way like I once thought. See, I’m mastering my curriculum. Rather, it’s in a playful, childlike, imaginative way! Let’s use my live life lavish mantra, for example.
It’s very much like “Hakuna matata”, c’est le vie, and the like. It’s an expression equivalent to saying, “God show me how good it can get.” “Let the best outcome happen to me.” It’s not rooted in fact, but knowledge! An innate knowledge and understanding that I am taken care of and am well protected. Like a child whose parent watches over them at the playground, God sits and watches me play in my life.
Living Life Lavish in Real Life
Like, can you believe I just eloped? Papa and I, yes. Just upped and got married in someone’s backyard! Beautiful rings, beautiful attire. Mommy and Madison were our witnesses. It was honestly perfect! Someone called me and asked how I got married and where the wedding was. For the life of me, I couldn’t comprehend why the hell would I waste my money inviting anybody to a damn last-minute wedding when it was what both me and my HUSBAND wanted to do??
But I digress, since being married, life has really been bliss. No, seriously, I don’t want to jinx it, but this is the happiest I’ve been in a long time. Not just to be married necessarily, but just to be doing what I wanted to do.
Growing my business like I want. Traveling as I want. Being pampered and devoted to someone like I want to be. Dressing like I want. Investing in myself like I want. Creating like I want. Playing like I want.
Having fun. What’s having fun to me? Living life lavish.
