31 Days of Blogmas – 2/31 🎄

Howdy family!

Welcome to Day 2 of Blogmas. Today I’m repurposing a draft from October 21, when we had the New Moon in Libra.

If you don’t follow the moon cycles, you should be, especially as a woman. We have a Full Moon in Gemini happening this week on 12/4. Notice how both these moon cycles are in Air signs. Air represents the mindscape, with Gemini ruled by chatty Mercury and Libra by Venus; these moon cycles are calling us to reevaluate what we give thought and value to.

New Moon in Libra – Written 10/21

I’m a little late this week because I procrastinated a bit on this week’s post. Been a little distracted lately and just letting myself slide into a lot of old habits I said I was done with. But no excuses—I’m here now, and as a treat for everyone, I will be posting new podcast episodes and some old blog audios today as well.

As you can tell from the title, I’m tapped into the potent and powerful energy of the recent New Moon in Libra. It’s the ending to a chapter brought to the forefront during the recent eclipse season.

It feels surreal to realize I’ve been in this transition period for about 2 years, especially since I wrote about the discomfort of being in it back in 2024. This New Moon drew me back to a blog post I wrote over 6 years ago, where I reflected on my struggle with self-acceptance.

All of which brings me to my post topic for today: this week’s New Moon is pushing us to accept our new reality and allow any bonds that no longer align to dissipate. Aka it’s time to let go of self-abandonment, under the guise of making it work.

Is today’s message for you or me? BOFFUM!

Let’s start with a bit of astrological reflection, and I’m by no means an astrologer, just a student and enthusiast of the occult.

Libra – Balancing The Scales

The seventh sign in the zodiac, Libra, rules the house of relationships and contracts. Being the first sign on the second half of the astrological bi-wheel, this is our first instance where we can reflect on our interactions with those around us (Houses 1-6 are personal, Houses 7-12 are more collective or interpersonal).

The 7th house represents relationships of all types, but primarily marriages and business partnerships.

Symbolized by the scales, this Venus-ruled air sign attempts to satisfy the values and desires of all parties involved, sometimes to its own detriment. Notice, Libra symbolism is the only non-living thing used to represent a zodiac. Diplomatic, logical, and at times a bit cold, Libra reminds us that it’s sometimes a choice has to be made in the best interest of most rather than the interest of one. Not to be anecdotal, but I’ve seen self-abandonment a lot in my mom, the Libra of my life. She’s often ignored her own wants and desires to appease others, whether her parents or partners.

Connection to my Current State of Being

I’ve written about this placement of mine before, but I’m a 7H Capricorn moon. To break this down for the non astrohoes, I’m a cold-hearted, cold-blooded, son of a gun, and I will attack if cornered (Capricorn’s symbol is the goat, remember?)

But I also have a moon-Neptune conjunction, which means I tend to become delusional in my emotional connections. This past weekend, I really took the time to dive deeper into this placement and reflected on what was revealed to me.

Everything that glitters ain’t gold

Don’t we all want a fairytale romance? In a perfect world, every woman would get her Disney prince, but we know it doesn’t always work out that way. I mean, some people say it can, but I don’t think it really does. My 7H Neptune, conjunct my moon, damn near proves it. Unfortunately, people will see the light in you and prey on that because we battle not flesh and blood, but principalities. If you know what that means, then you know you have to be on alert in these times. Not hardhearted, but not naive either. There are men out here waiting on the next sucker they can take advantage of.

Don’t think about the altar on the first date

I tend to, with my moon representing my emotions in the house ruling partnerships, including marriage, attempt to date to marry. Why can’t girls just have fun? I digress. There was a time when I was a maneater, roster and all, and it was one of the funnest times of my life. But at some point, around about 22/23, I decided I wanted to settle down. Big mistake. Every other man I met, I thought could be my husband. Me – the best bitch in America, felt my husband was coming from Houston, TX??? DELULU!

To make matters worse, I fantasized about men being my husband that I didn’t like as people. Nor did they satisfy me (MG/Generator NECESSITY!). Even though they didn’t even treat me well, I was willing to give my heart and name away to anyone who would offer for it.

You are your own soulmate

Which brings me to my last point: I am my own soulmate. I didn’t need a husband to love me; I just needed to love myself more. And for a long time, I didn’t know what that meant. Like, I literally would Google “How to Love Yourself?” Pathetic, but it’s true. But the bigger and scariest truth is that I kept meeting versions of myself in people without acknowledging it. I hadn’t done the shadow work required to build a healthy relationship, so all I could attract were karmic partners. Even to this day, I’m connected with a karmic, false Divine Masculine.

But this doesn’t have to be the end of my story. The first step is acknowledgment. The last is acceptance.

Break the pattern today or the loop will repeat tomorrow.

BREAK THE PATTERN TODAY OR THE LOOP WILL REPEAT TOMORROW.
